Wheel Alignment & Steering Geometry Specialists
Callinafercy, Milltown, Co. Kerry Ireland

Callinafercy Motors are Ireland's premier wheel alignment and steering wheel geometry specialists. So what is wheel alignment and why is it important?

In its most basic form, a wheel alignment consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other. The purpose of these adjustments is maximum tire life and a vehicle that tracks straight and true when driving along a straight and level road. Normal wear and road conditions can take their toll on your car's steering and suspension systems, possibly throwing the alignment setting out of specification.

Ball joints, tie rods, steering arms, bushings and other suspension parts all wear gradually over time. Springs will gradually sag and age as miles accumulate. All of these will affect alignment angles and adjustments will need to be made or components need to be replaced to restore optimum handling.

Wheel Alignment is often confused with Wheel Balancing. The two really have nothing to do with each other except for the fact that they affect ride and handling. If a wheel is out of balance, it will cause a vibration at highway speeds that can be felt in the steering wheel and/or the seat. If the alignment is out, it can cause excessive tire wear and steering or tracking problems.
We use the latest Corghi Exact 7000 computerised aligner with 8-CCD camera sensors to professionally align your vehicle. Call us today to make an appointment and ensure your vehicle is kept in alignment for safety, comfort and optimum tyre life.
